If you are wondering about the perfect gift for coworkers, neighbors, or friends…why not cookies!!!  Now you could make them yourself, or you can give them a gift of making their own.  It is so hard to get gifts for everyone and it can get very spendy, that’s why I love layered cookie gifts.  There are so many versions and most of the time they are in mason jars.  I have also seen hot chocolate gifts in clear ornaments, how cute!

There are several different mixes you could do or make your own.  I love chocolate chip so I has included the recipe and instructions on how to create the wonderful gift of food.  This is the type of gift that is inexpensive and you can dress up to make it look so fancy.  I always loved when people put thought and time into gifts and this one really fits the bill.  Don’t forget to give the instructions on how to put them together; your recipient will need to add a few ingredients.

RECIPE TO ATTACH:

PREHEAT oven to 375° F. Beat 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) softened butter or margarine, 1 large egg and 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until blended. Add cookie mix and 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional); mix well, breaking up any clumps. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
