All over the internet and Facebook, I have been seeing a huge fall sangria trend. I absolutely love sangria in the summertime, so refreshing and crisp. When I saw the creations online, I was floored that you could achieve the same crisp drink that warmed you at the same time. Thanksgiving is a perfect time to pull out all of the stops including the beverages you serve.
Sangria, by definition is an iced drink, typically made with red wine, sugar, fruit juice, soda water, and spices, and containing fruit slices. So this amazing recipe foots the bill, I have to warn you it is so good…do not let it get away from you. I would hate for you to embarrass yourself in front of grandma. However, if you do, I want to hear about it lol!
Apple Cinnamon Sangria
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour
Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
750mL cinnamon whiskey
1 bottle Pinot Grigio
64-oz. apple cider
1 liter seltzer water
Chop apples and pears into bite-size chunks.
#SpoonTip: Make sure to wash your fruit to get rid of all those yucky germs.
Place the cut fruit in a bowl and drown in cinnamon whiskey. Cover the bowl and let sit for at least an hour.
#SpoonTip: The longer the fruit soaks, the more boozy they get.
In a serving jug, pour in wine, apple cider, and seltzer water. Scoop in your soaked apples, and stir.
There are so many variations you could try out with this recipe, remember have fun with it, but this is not the Jungle Juice we made at keggers in high school 9the only goal was to get as much alcohol in there as we could), we are grown up know(wink, wink).
